Originally my camp schedule was supposed to start July 4th which everyone knows as America's birthday and I was uber bummed that I would not be in my hometown to celebrate it with my family and friends.
Thankfully (or not so thankfully because now I am required to be at the camp by 10am the next morning), the schedule was switched around due to it being a holiday. So now I got to spend 4th of July at home, and memories were made.
Seeing as how neither of us had work in the afternoon and we had become quite fantastic friends, Kaci (who is also my new editor-in-chief) and I decided why not have some fun.
40 minute trips to get sparklers, me wondering aimlessly down the aisles at HEB and getting covered in Odie's slobber made for a very stellar Independence Day!
Because we decided that watermelon was a must on 4th of July! They were the sweetest watermelon that either of us had.
What is July 4th without some sort of sparkler? After battling the wind at the beach, we finally found a safe place to light these babies and get some crazy photos!
Thank you to Kaci for tagging along with me, even after you started to feel like crap. It is no 21st birthday bash but I think it rolled together for a nice little holiday.
Until next time,
