2017, you were one wild ride. 2018. you have a lot to live up to.
2017 was the year I /thought/ I would be moving to a new state.
2017 was the year I learned the hard way that dreams don’t always come true right away.
2017 was the year I had to learn that “not now” did not mean “not ever” but “give it time.”
2017 was the year that I realized I shouldn’t be comparing my success to others.
2017 was the year I finally (FINALLY) finished my educational journey and became a whole degree
2017 was the year I saw my friends succeed in their journeys and I couldn’t be happier.
2017 was the year I still fought tooth and nail for my mental health.
2017 was the year I tried new things and experienced new sights.
2017 was the year Corpus Christi witnessed devastation but also a miracle.
2017 was the year I was taught that there was still good in humanity and that America is one
Going into the year, I had a strict idea of what I wanted to happen, when I wanted it to happen and how I wanted it to happen. But life doesn’t always give you what you want as I have learned. This year I was taught to roll with the punches but also take the wins in stride. There is so much I learned from this year and I am so excited to see what 2018 will teach me.
2018: Bring it on.
