Last semester I joined my school's newspaper staff. If some of y'all have been watching my monthly vlogs, you'll know that I am a designer for them. Recently got given the job as Art Director for the rest of the semester, so go me!
But last weekend, I was actually able to go to TIPA with the staff. TIPA stands for Texas Intercollegiate Press Association. Basically, it is a huge convention that all the Texas school's newspaper staff gather at every year. This year it was in Dallas, Texas, and seeing as how I had never been there, I was uber excited to participate. These are just a few photos of what we did. There is more video footage that is being worked into my April monthly vlog.
Okay, you may be wondering why we are taking a selfie with an X... It is because this is where John F. Kennedy was assassinated! We also saw where the shooter had supposedly been and the memorial to JFK.
Me and Izzy were slightly jealous of the boys' full length mirror in their room so we took advantage of it every time we could.
Can you tell we work for the paper? On our last night (before getting lost in Dallas), we decided to work on coming up with new things for the paper next semester.
To round off the weekend, our newspaper took home 14 awards, including third place Best of Show! Now I can finally add award winning designer to my twitter bio ;)
As always, until next time lovelies,
