![]() Time to break out those flip-flops and floppy hats! It's spring break 2015. Whoop Whoop! I, along with every other school teenager/young adult out there, am beyond excited for our week full of sun, surf and sand. The break well needed before the real work begins for us. Finals, end of semester preparation, and all the other stuff that comes along. And although my entire Spring Break is filled with work, leaving me just two days to enjoy the (hopefully) sun, I couldn't not take this opportunity to share what I wish I was doing this spring break! First off, seeing as how I am a South Texas gal who is lucky enough to live in the place with the beaches, the beach is the number 1 spot for anyone this week. But if you're not much a beach girl (myself included), there is this epic thing going on in Concan, Texas called Rio Frio Fest! And I am super bummed that I will not be one of the many, many, many people out there on a tube in the Frio River. Starting on March 17th, and going on until the 21st, it is basically a huge concert on the river. Plus it's out in the Texas country, so how can you say no to that? You can check out the website for more details, lodging info, and ticket prices here. So while I’m stuck inside, snapping on bracelets to let people into the water park, I’ll be wishing that I was stuck in a tube on the Frio Rio. Speaking of water parks! How about a family trip to Schlitterbahn while in Texas? (There is even one in Kansas City!) It’s the hottest coolest time in Texas… Okay, that was pretty cheesy. But it’s a pretty catchy jingle. Go check out one of the parks during the week and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed! (Actually, don’t hold me to that… I don’t want to be sued…). Slides, wave riders, and tubes! It’s kind of going to the river but not. It is a blast though, especially if you have small children with you because it’s a little bit harder to get lost at the river than it is at Schlitterbahn, plus there are lifeguards at water parks. And of course, if you want the free option, and can handle the sand, definitely come hang out at the beaches of North Padre Island! We may not have the waves of Hawaii or the blue see-through seas of Jamaica, but gosh darn it! We have charisma! Plus, the opportunity for a bonfire as the sun sets is always a winner in my book. Too bad Spring Break is only a week long… Now whether you’re stuck inside during this week of opportunities or out on the coast celebrating Spring Break in the right way, let me know down in the comments on what you do for this week of freedom. Do you work? Or go somewhere stellar? Until next time my lovelies! XOXO
