"wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow..." - Anita Desai
With everyone staying inside and multiple trips canceled, I wanted to reflect a little on one of the trips I took in 2019.
As I type this, I am on a plane flying back to Austin from Denver, Colorado. If you have no idea what I am talking about or why I was in Colorado, then let me fill you in really quick. As many of you know, Kaci and I traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana last October to experience our first ever Supernatural convention (You can read all about it here!).
Well after that convention, we realized we had been missing out on this entire side of the fandom. We had gotten hooked very quickly on this entire convention thing. We needed to go to another one. So after checking the 2018 schedule, we narrowed it down to three potential options-Las Vegas, Denver and Jacksonville. All had their pros and cons, and if we could have, I can guarantee we probably would have gone to all three. But when it came down to it-Vegas, while nice because it was a four-day con, was way too close for us to plan appropriately, way too expensive and there wouldn’t be anyway Kace could get off work again so soon after her wedding and honeymoon; Jacksonville was in December so it would have given us almost an entire year to plan and save but we didn’t know who for sure was going yet, and I don’t think we could have waited that long, so Denver ended up being the final choice.
Here it is! The final Disney travel journal! I am sure y'all are probably sick of seeing all these Disney photos (if you're not, Hoorah! Make sure to check out my Disney vlogs so you can see what else we got up to that wasn't photographed!), but I stuffed this blog post full of my final days at Disney.
I was lucky enough to be able to experience Easter at Disney which I thought was so frickin' cool as well as the tail end of the California Food and Wine festival.
I've decided to combine days 2 and 3 into one photo journal (much like my travel vlogs) and I am so excited to share these photos with you! Looking back at these photos makes me miss Disneyland that much more.
As I type this, I am currently about 35 minutes away from landing back in Texas after being in Anaheim for a week....
Well I was when I started this, but now I am currently sitting back in my own living room, cuddling with Sam's dog, Luna, and trying to organize and plan everything I needed to catch up on. Work, house chores, video editing and blog post writing.
When I planned my Disney trip, I knew I didn't want to waste any time there editing or writing or doing really anything as it was gonna be my first vacation away from any sort of work in two years but now I am paying for it. But I honestly wouldn't have had it any other way.
I hope to write several other blog posts but for now, I wanted to share my usual travel photo journal post with photos of my trip. I'll be writing a little more detailed ones later!
I am going to split this photo journal into three parts because I believe I just have way too many photos so now without further ado, here is one third of my Disney vacation!
In 28 days I will be boarding a plane to LAX and heading back to California for the second time in 5 years. The reason? I'm going back to Disneyland! *cue the confetti and excited screaming*
If you ever asked me if I would stay in Corpus Christi, TX after I get married or for a career, I would say no, very enthusiastically. Having grown up in CC, staying in town for college and now after I graduated, I feel like I am being suffocated sometimes. But compared to some of my friends, I got sort of lucky with hometowns.
Most Halloween weekends (in which the actual holiday falls on a weekday) there are two spectrums-either stay inside and watch Halloween movies or go out and party. From there, you decide on the sub-categories: what movies to watch, what snacks, etc or are you staying in town and traveling to friends to party, what are you dressing up as, etc.
For Kaci and I, we found a happy middle when we booked our trip to New Orleans, Louisiana for the last weekend of October. What possessed me, the girl who would happily stay in all weekend to watch Netflix or cook with her roommates, to actually go to the party city in America? Simple.
This past weekend Bri and I packed our bags and headed up to Beaumont to visit Kaci. Kaci recently moved up to Beaumont for her “big girl” job at the beginning of June, so we thought a road trip to go see her would be the perfect mini-vacation. And even though all three of us are now covered in mosquito bites, it was still a pretty fantastic weekend.
