This blog post is just a little something that has been rattling around in my head for a couple of days. I am at a point in my life that I am so lucky to be surrounded by a group of friends who know what they are doing with their life. "Supporting others will not dampen your own success." This is such a powerful quote and I cannot thank Erica from Coming Up Roses enough for sending out an email that centered around this. I get so self-conscious about wanting to congratulate and be a cheerleader for my fellow girls and guys who are killin' it at the life game.
Some are getting amazing business opportunities and job offers. Others are learning to new languages and sticking to it. A couple of them have amazing relationships with great guys and girls. And I just want to be like "Yes! YOU GO GIRL! I am so frickin' proud of you! Let me help you out if need be! Let me brag on you for a sec!" But then we were raised in a society that taught us that we HAVE to be a the top or else we fail. I do not want to be at the top unless I have amazing people at the top with me. Why would I want to rule the world and be successful by myself? No one can get there unless they have a strong support system backing them, and I hope I have that with my group of friends because that is what I strive for with them. So I want to tell you all something right now: Do not be ashamed of wanting to cheer your girlfriends on. Be their biggest cheerleader and their biggest supporter. Let others know that you are proud of them and you will back them no matter what.
