As of today at 11:30am, I officially became a resident of Aspen Heights.
Just give me a moment for this to sink in...
I write this post on my new desk, in my new room, in my new house. It's been such a long but fulfilling day. My move-in time was at noon so I got up early enough to make sure I had everything packed and began to load up my tiny car. I was lucky enough to have a best friend who took her off day with helping me move, so she arrived shortly after and we packed up her car as well. Making sure we had filled up our cars to the max, we drove to Rhonda's place so we could load her SUV with the stuff we bought a couple of days ago, and try to squeeze anything else into our already too small-too loaded cars. My goal was to only make one trip... And we did it! In hindsight, I probably should've planned the moving process a tad bit better but to be fair, I hadn't accounted for Del Mar to start classes today. I was incredibly thankful for the friends I have managed to gain though this summer. One came straight from class to help me and one who actually lives in the same complex where I do offered her assistance as well.
I think we managed fine though. We were able to get everything moved in and unpacked before any of my roommates got here, so I think that is a huge plus. Speaking of roommates!
I met only one of them today. Yeah, you read right, only one showed up today but hopefully the others move-in tomorrow.
Unpacking though was a pain. The kitchen was over quickly with the four of us moving quickly, it was my room that was insane. I was still unpacking at 6pm as I was trying to get ready for our Bahn Bash at work. We finally held an employee appreciation night, so it was kind of a long day.
And on that note, I really wish I could write more about my moving process, but I am way exhausted and I am still trying to take it in honestly. I know I mentioned it earlier, but I do want to say a huge, huge, HUGE thank you to Rhonda, Felicia, Marissa and Jessica who all gave up some of their day to help me become a young adult and spread my wings. Y'all are the best.
Until next time lovelies,
