After a long, and when I say long I mean loooonnnngggggg, semester, I am officially coming back to my baby! You may have noticed that this entire semester (middle of January through beginning of May), there were not many blog posts on here. My life got kind of busy and hectic and Sweet Tea & Storms took a backseat (unfortunately) to everything.
Why was my life so hectic you may ask? Because I was in my LAST SEMESTER OF UNDERGRAD CAREER!
*cue the confetti and champagne popping*
I mean, there were other reasons as well but that was the main reason. I definitely did not expect to be stressing and freaking out this much when I thought about my last semester. So here is my little update on my life this past semester and the start of a lot more blog posts again.
Well... I frickin' graduated!!! My cousins came down from Austin, my "big sister" was a frickin champ and drove down for my graduation and then drove up to SA for her brother's graduation, my step grandparents and aunt came and my dad manager to wrangle all four of the younger ones into the auditorium. Besides them, several other close people saw me walk. I am so excited to be done with school but also confused because I have no idea what I am gonna do.
And unfortunately while this was a happy occasion, it was shadowed with the fact that my grandpa(dad's father) passed away the week before and we attended the funeral the day before graduation. It was a very somber affair but some good things did come out of it-I got to finally (i say finally but in reality I apparently knew them already according to my dad) meet my dad's siblings (all but one) and the cousins. We got to honor my grandpa who served in the US Army for 27 years in Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Germany and so many other places, and we got to be surrounded by loved ones.
Growing up, we would visit him or I would talk to him on the phone, but as I got older, I unfortunately did not take as many chances as I wish I had to call him or visit him, and now that is one of my biggest regrets.
I worked two jobs that had me going crazy the majority of the time and went to school for 16 hours. Being the web editor was definitely a crazy job that always had me checking the social media pages or putting stuff up online, and being a production manager had me driving to Aransas Pass 4 days out of the school week. But both jobs have prepared me for life after college. So there's that....
I spent 4 days in Dallas with the Island Waves crew... That was adventurous (and probably the start of decline in school)... You can read and see all the photos in a previous post (TIPA 2017)
I spent the majority of "free" time applying for jobs after college and am still doing that, and have officially gotten hooked onto Supernatural because one of my best friends, not naming names (KACI MARIE ALVAREZ), made a deal that if I watched it, she would watch The 100... Still hasn't happened.
This isn't even half the stuff I went through this semester but it's all a couple of good reasons why I have had to step back from blogging and vlogging. But now that I am done (which is still really weird to think about), I am going to get back on track with everything.... hopefully.
Unit next time lovelies,
