One of my favorite things about the Halloween holiday (well actually... Any holiday in general) is the food! I am a huge foodie so anytime there is a special occasion, I am down to whip up something. For Halloween, I added a tasty twist to one of my favorite appetizers.
Jalapeno poppers are one of the best appetizers to have, One: Because there are so many ways to make them and Two: anyone can add personal touches to them! For mine, I did a recipe that I found through Pinterest by The Hopeless House Wife, and tweaked it a little.
To make these jalapeno poppers ready for Halloween, I wrapped them in crescent dough and made mummies with them. Also, usually I am all about quick and easy recipes but I definitely recommend taking your time on this one.
Here's how to make them:
These mummies were so much fun to make, and were frickin' delicious! My roommates devoured them as soon as I said I had gotten the photos I needed. I also actually had a blast when I was wrapping them in their "bandages". It is also a great way to get kids involved with the Halloween treats. The batch that I made only made 10 mummies but you can also up it to 20 and use 8 ounces of cream cheese and jack cheese.
What are some of your favorite Halloween food ideas? Or better yet, what are you favorite Halloween candies? I know mine include an endless supply of kit-kats and M&M's.
Until next time,
