I am 1 of 6 kids. My mom is 1 of 4. My dad was 1 of 7. My step-mom is 1 of 5. Safe to say - regardless of what side I am on, there are a lot of people. Not including all of the extra family members. On my dad's side I am Spaniard and my mom's is the German/Slovakian. The one thing both sides have in common? Food.
Prior to COVID and being in quarantine, I was maintaining a pretty healthy lifestyle - or at least healthier than what I was. I was working out 3-4 times a week, losing weight, gaining muscles, eating healthier foods and drinking plenty of water. Unfortunately when the COVID crisis hit, being a high-risk and living with one (hi mom!) meant I had to be extra careful so I stopped going to the gym and with that I started to feel unmotivated. I lost interest in trying to cook healthy recipes and drank more sodas than water. Now almost 6 months into this new normal for our world, I have gained some of the pounds I had originally lost back and I knew I had to do something about it.
Hence where this little recipe comes in.
And no, it's not because it's co-owned by one of the stars of Supernatural.
I'm a HUGE foodie. It might not look like it on here because I never post anything about food but I am trying to break that habit. I promise! But I love food (probably too much...)
So when it fully hit me that I was heading to Disney Land (i.e. when I bought my plane tickets), I realized I was finally going to be able to try all the treats I didn't get to try last time I was there! So I started making a Disney Land Treats Bucket List, which I thought I would share with you on here.
If you’ve been paying attention to a couple of previous blog posts, you’ll find out that I started the TV show Supernatural in the middle of this past semester. And I had fallen in love with the cast and crew as well as some of their significant others, because many of them are literal definitions of couple goals and family goals.
Recently, Genevieve Padalecki- who is not only Jared Padalecki’s (who plays Sam Winchester) wife, but also portrayed one of the villains in season four of the show, went live on her very own blog, called Now & Gen. I loved following her Instagram because it is soooooo gorgeous so I was very excited when she announced her blog was finally live.
I am so excited to finally share this recipe on the blog. I have been wanting to do it for a while but every time I made the dish, I never got photos or I was making it as a quick treat to take to a party. But I had some free time (and a vegetarian friend to feed) so I decided now was the perfect time!
During our weekend in Beaumont, the three of us (Kaci, Bri and I) knew we wanted to have brunch on Sunday morning for our final thing, even if it was just for fancy mimosas and girl chat. After discussing it with her co-workers, Kaci had given us two options and Madison’s is what stuck out for us. Once we arrived, all three of us agreed that we loved the vibe the restaurant had.
One of my favorite things about the Halloween holiday (well actually... Any holiday in general) is the food! I am a huge foodie so anytime there is a special occasion, I am down to whip up something. For Halloween, I added a tasty twist to one of my favorite appetizers.
Finals are just around the corner which means countless hours spent studying and finalizing projects. The majority of the time is spent huddled in the quietest corner of the library or hunched over your desk in your bedroom only venturing out for water and chips.
I am one of the people who will go without food for several hours just so I can cram in extra studying time, but I have recently realized how unhealthy that is, both physically and mentally so I have taken a different approach.
Being back at school, I am kicking myself for taking 18 hours this semester. It has seriously cutting into my eating time, and for anyone who knows me personally, when I get hungry, I get mean. What usually helps is having a bag of snacks, prepared either the night before or right before I head to school and I'll snack on that during the day until I get a break for lunch or I'll snack through lunch to get school work or posts for this blog edited.
Some of my favorite snacks for on the go would be ranging from healthy to not very healthy.
