What's In My Makeup Bag?

To anyone who knows me, knows that growing up I was never really girly. Even now I still have my moments when all I want to do is put on some shorts, throw my hair in the bun and not worry about my appearance.
But as I have grown, my attitude towards makeup and hairstyles have changed. I have become more aware with what make-up is good for me and what I should avoid. My makeup bag is full (not really) of my must-have products but I also have some duplicates of cheaper versions.

My face make-up is very minimal. I just use foundation and powder, that's it. The whole contouring thing and blush still confuses me so I tend to skip those steps. Ultimately, I do plan on learning at some point in my life but for now, as a active college student, I am keeping it easy. The foundation I use now is one I got for reviewing purposes from Influenster. (You can read about it here). But it is amazing. Sometimes I just wear that and I am good for the rest of the day. It stays fabulously on your skin so you don't have to worry about reapplying it all day. It is a little pricey but I love it.
My powder I use, I have been using for a couple of months now and it has been stellar for the price. It is L'Oreal True Match and I had originally bought both the powder and foundation when I was in desperate need for them and have both worked brilliantly. Now I just use the powder over my Better Skin foundation or if I am feeling kind of bleh and not wanting to wear make-up but still need to cover my bad spots, I just wipe a bit of this on and I'm good to go.

On a normal school day, I rarely ever wear lipstick or lip gloss. But if my friends and I are going out or something, I'll gladly throw on some bright red or pink lipstick and call it a night. My lip glosses are used more for days that I really don't want to put an effort into it or just don't want to wipe lipstick off at the end of the night.
My lip glosses are from Younique (which work amazingly, but be warned the lip gloss stays on but it kind of "dries" out a little so I would recommend taking the tube with you to touch up), Dior and I recently got a double sided lip gloss that my aunt gave me as a gift.
As for my lip sticks, I am very picky with mine because I am the kind of girl that doesn't want to bring make-up with me if I am going out so I need them to stay on all night. The ones on the left and the two on the right side of the Cover Girl one are all Wet And Wild. And the middle one is Cover Girl. SO far, I have used every single one of them multiple times and have not had any problems with them wiping off. They are amazing!

Eye-shadows are like my lipsticks and lip glosses. I rarely use them expect for occasions of going out. Mainly because I am still learning on how to properly apply them and how to do a smokey eye. So while I love all my pretty colors, I am sticking to a lot of neutrals right now just so I don't look like a clown.
The separate ones are from Younique while the palettes are from Ulta and Avon. The Younique ones you can get a deal on the website that is 4 for $45, and while that is a more expensive option, the palettes from Ulta are cheaper and you get the basic colors you can get anywhere. The Avon one was a gift and in typically gift fashion, I try not to research the prices because sometimes prices are just meant to stay a secret.

I am very particular about my liquid eyeliner, almost as bad as I am with my foundation. I had been using pencil for several months earlier this year but after a trip to Ulta with Felicia, I left home with my first ever Stila liquid eyeliner. From then on, I forgot how much I loved it compared to pencil. If you are looking for a cheaper version, because this eyeliner from Stila is around $23, e.l.f. has amazing makeup for cheap prices. This one I purchased at my local drugstore was around $4.
I am telling you that I am not the best at makeup nor will I ever be. Sometimes I do want to get all dolled up and feel pretty but other times, I want to forget about makeup and just be natural. But I do hope you had fun getting a peek into my makeup bag for when I do feel like getting all dolled up.
Now let's compare! Because that's always fun. Do you have a ton of makeup or are you like me and keep it minimal as possible (although it doesn't look like it)? Let me know down in the comments(:
    XOXO,

I used to keep it minimal when I was in college as well! I've found the older I get I almost have to wear a full face of makeup! Also I definitely need to try those eyeliners because I am on the hunt for a new one! Great post! XO -Kim

Thank you so much! Yes, eyeliner hunts are always fun. XD Tarte also has really good eyeliners, I actually just got a deal on one so I've been using it too. -Mikayla
