Now that the sun has finally decided to peek out from the clouds for a couple of days (Hello 77 degree weather!), I can finally post about one of my favorite all time accessories.
Sunglasses! With the whole color-eyed thing comes sensitivity to light issue so you can definitely always find me sporting a good pair of shades
The two I currently own and are in love with are my Aviators Gold and my Black Gloss Wayfarers. Both of which I obtained through this really cool site called Subsidy Shades. They have really great sunglasses for really cheap! Plus the story behind the couple that makes them is so inspiring.
The couple that makes them, Melissa and Robert, welcomed their first child, Jacqueline, into their family by adoption. Jacqueline's birth-mother already had four other children and during little Jacqueline's pregnancy, suffered from major health complications. Being responsible for all her costs as the adoptive parents, Melissa and Robert complied but when more problems rose for Jacqueline's biological family, Melissa and Robert went above and beyond and took the FULL family into their home until they were able to get back onto their feet. Eventually, Melissa and Robert raised enough funds to afford an entire house and paid for it, IN FULL! What started out as just a little business to help their daughter become a full blown business, and now it doesn't just help their family but also other families in similar situations. With the money they raise from their sunglasses, it goes to help families with adoption costs, medical funds, etc... They are such an inspiration to everyone out there, including myself. I believe there should be more people like them out in the world. Maybe then we wouldn't be such a messed up universe. After finding out about their story, how could I not buy a couple pairs?! Even though I probably don't need anymore, I have my eyes on the many different colors of Wayfarers that is offered! So now whether I'm outside, snapping photos or taking a spontaneous road trip, I'll look stylin' from my head to my feet.
