Pink has never been a particularly favorite color of mine. Give me any shade of blue, green, or grey and I was a happy girl. But no pink. I can credit that to my tom-boy upbringing as a kid, and while I don’t hold the same disdain for it I did as a kid, it is not my first color of choice.
I can admit though when the color has caught my eye and when I was shopping with my roommate one day, H&M (which just recently opened at our mall), was having a sale. We went in just to look around and right away, this skirt caught my eye.
I had been looking for a skirt similar to this one for a while, but hadn’t had any luck with finding one so when I saw it and found out it was my size, I definitely snatched it off the rack (alongside a really comfy winter jacket that I can’t wait to wear).
Once I bought it, I was super excited to pair it with a top and shoes and paint the town… well pink! Thankfully, I got the opportunity when one of my local theatres was doing a discounted rate for the musical ‘In The Heights’ they were performing due to Hurricane Harvey. So I texted one of my best friends, made plans and started to figure out what top I wanted to pair it with.
This particular crop top is the only crop top I own actually but it has been a blessing since it goes with quite a fair few of my clothes. I wore it with a blue skirt for graduation photos, paired it with some high-waisted shorts to wander around Dallas with the IW crew, and have thrown it on under a jacket with some workout leggings.
Pairing the skirt and crop top only seemed natural and I knew what boots I wanted to wear because I bought them the same time as the skirt. The Christian Siriano’s collection at Payless has been my favorite collection there. I have a couple of bags and several shoes from it and it never fails to be the perfect match. The booties I bought are super comfy, stylish and don’t make me feel like I’m wearing heels at all since they’re block heels.

I am stoked to wear this outfit again and change it up a bit with different accessories and shoes. Do you have an outfit that is just by far one of your favorites? Or a piece of clothing you just couldn’t wait to wear once you bought it? Let me know down in the comments!
