Keeping Warm In The Winter

1/23/2015

Good day my fantablous readers! (okay... Note to self: Don't ever use the word fantablous again)
Today's post is going to be winter themed! Even though here in South Texas, we get like a week of winter... But this year, we've been blessed (cursed) to have a long(ish) one. So I've got to dress in cute layers for longer periods of time (Plus Hoodies!)
Although I do long for the days I can wear cute summer dresses and shorts, I will take what I can get.

This outfit is by far one of my favorites. I get the stylish look I try to achieve for winter, but I also get my comfy black peacoat that I absolutely adore! If it's cold outside then I will definitely be wearing it. Plus if the weather decided to change at last minute (as it frequently does in Corpus), I can shed the coat and show off the top I have underneath.
Now for me, standing at 5 feet 7 inches, I usually tower over some of my friends, but I love to show off my legs. But in the winter, that's kind of hard to do, so I just have to suck it up and slide myself into some skinnies.
The ones I'm wearing, I have mixed feelings about. They're dark-wash so it slims my figure a tad and their super comfy. But the thing is they only have back pockets, no front ones, and I have never been one to really like the jegging look. It's kind of a toss up for me on this pair.
As you can see, my shirt is a vibrant red that I absolutely fell in love with when I first saw it on the rack. I was kind of iffy about it though because knowing Texas, as soon as I bought it and wore it, the weather would be back to 95 degrees, but I took the plunge and I am so glad that I did! It is insanely comfy and like wrapping yourself in a silk blanket.
Of course, no outfit is complete without shoes! And what girl doesn't have at least a couple pairs. The ones I am sporting are some Rock and Candy hiking boots that I came across one day while splurging on myself. They can be worn two different ways, flaps up or flaps down. And just because I am not out in the wilderness hiking doesn't mean I can't rock them.
Whether the winter lasts 3 months or 2 weeks, safe to say I'll be trendy and warm.
