Hey! I like your shirt!

This year, I am all about wearing what I want because it makes me feel good. For some, that might be that they are more comfortable in workout shorts and a shirt, for others it is about being in sweats. But for me, it is about wearing (and promoting brands) that I WANT to invest in. And Serengetee is one of those brands!
As a brand representative for this company, we are required to do a end-of-semester project to help showcase this AMAZING brand. We can do whatever we want to, whether it is a video, piece of artwork, photoshoot, etc. So of course, me being me, I chose to do a blog post!

Let me tell you a story:
In 2012, two guys met on a Study Abroad at Sea program, which was about spending a semester at sea as they travel around the globe, gaining a new education. From there, they explored markets from all across Africa, Asia, and Central America, and started collecting fabrics.
Because of the unique fabric they picked up, they wanted to find a way to make a positive change in the world. With that dream in mind, these two guys, Jeff and Ryan, created a brand centered around a piece of fabric, by using their last bit of money to begin to sew and ship out their first shirts in their dorm room.
     And Serengetee was born.
Now in 2017, they buy fabrics from over 25 countries which in turn help artisans, and their families. On top of helping the artisans, 10% of their net profits go toward grassroots causes, like animal rights, to end human trafficking, disaster relief, and to help USA veterans.

I am really excited that I got to participate in helping bring awareness to this brand this semester and am really proud of what this company is doing.
     Until next time,
p.s. Huge thanks to Izzy Sneed Photography for taking these awesome shots!
