Flashing Back Or Is It Forward...?

Moving in with someone can always be a hard thing, especially if you don't know your roommate. I got lucky though. My roommate is extremely sweet, but I still wanted to have the experience to bond with her. So we decided to do what every young adult female loves to do: shop! On one of my off days, I offered to show her around Corpus a little seeing as how she isn't from here, and that led to us going to Ross, Hot Topic and Forever 21.
Forever 21 has never been my shop really because I don't fit into a lot of their clothes, but I got so lucky to find some items that I fell in love with on the rack and when I tried them on together, I knew I had to have them.
This crop top from Forever 21 (that I got on clearance. Score!) is such an interesting piece because you can't really find something like this in stores nowadays, it has a retro vibe to it and that is kind of lost in today's society. We are losing touch with our past, and while it is fun to dress in leggings and loose shirts, I had so much fun putting this on and styling my outfit around it. The high-waisted skinny jeans are also from Forever 21, and although I am usually very conservative when it comes to any clothes because of my weight, I actually didn't hesitate to buy these. Sure, they don't hide my stomach or hips but mixing these with the crop top was too much fun to care. I completed my outfit with these stellar Report black and tan wedges that I got from Ross for half off. I had been looking for wedges for some time but could never find the right pair. When I spotted these at Ross, I actually found a size too small so I was disappointed but looking further down the rack, I saw the exact same but a bigger size. I guess luck was on my side that day.
Putting this outfit together was so much fun because I embraced myself and found out what I was comfortable in. Sure, my hips could be skinnier or my stomach flatter, but when I put this outfit on, I felt awesome and to be honest, that's all that mattered. (I mean it did help that everyone who saw me said I looked like a pinup girl from the '50s, and they all loved this style.)

Top: Floral Print Crop from Forever 21 (Mine was a clearance one so it couldn't be found on the site, but here is a similar one)
Jeans: High-Waisted Skinny Jeans (they are sold out but if you want to be added to the wait list, you can)
Shoes: Report black and tan wedges (I have looked everywhere for these online but sadly cannot find them or a similar one)

You look absolutely gorgeous in this outfit! I definitely understand your reservations, I don't feel like I could pull off a crop top, but you were made to wear one, you look so amazing! LOVE this outfit on you! XO -Kim
