I am so excited to finally share this recipe on the blog. I have been wanting to do it for a while but every time I made the dish, I never got photos or I was making it as a quick treat to take to a party. But I had some free time (and a vegetarian friend to feed) so I decided now was the perfect time!
Strawberries and cream or as I learned it Frescas con cremas, is a super easy, cheap and oh so delicious recipe to make. As mentioned above, I usually tend to make this if I am going to a party and don’t know what to take. I learned of this dish and how to make it from my step aunt when she made it for my step-mom’s baby shower when they were expecting my baby sister.
The only three ingredients you need are:
The first thing you are going to do is slice up your strawberries and put them in your mixing bowl. (It is okay if you sneak a few ;) I know Izzy and I did while I was prepping them) You can dice them or slice, whichever way you prefer.
After finishing up your strawberries, I coat mine with sugar and shake it all together to help sweeten them. Then you add your sour cream and stir, stir, stir! At this point, you can add more sugar in it, sweetening it until you find the perfect amount of sweetness for your dish. I like mine super sweet so I put a bunch of sugar in it. Once you’re done, if you have whipped cream, go ahead and slip a dollop of whip cream on the top and enjoy!
