As I sit here and type this, the weather outside is a humid, and toasty 80 degrees. To be fair though, I do live in South Texas, where cold weather is as a foreign concept as snow. Add that to the ever growing list of things I do not care for in South Texas. But just because the weather is shorts and tank top weather, it did not stop me from getting in the festive mood.
*Edit: when I first started typing this, it was humid and 80 and hadn't snowed in Corpus. But now, it's a solid 60-65 degrees and it snowed for the first time since 2004.
This semester Izzy decided to take a film photography class at the university and after her first round of developing photos was finished, she really wanted to do a vintage shoot with her film camera. I've always loved vintage shoots so I definitely hopped on board for this right away and this is what came out of it!
p.s.: She hasn't developed the film yet but these were shot on her iPhone 7 plus and edited by me through the app VSCO. Once the film develops, I might add in a couple of the shots or link to her blog if she writes a blog post about it.
All throughout my middle school years and in some of my high school years, I was extremely blessed to have relatively clear skin. I seriously took advantage of it now that I think about it. Part of the reason was because I didn’t wear a lot of make-up during that time. In fact, the only times I wore any sort of make-up was for extravagant reasons (i.e. high school dances, quinces, sweet sixteen’s, etc.)
Pink has never been a particularly favorite color of mine. Give me any shade of blue, green, or grey and I was a happy girl. But no pink. I can credit that to my tom-boy upbringing as a kid, and while I don’t hold the same disdain for it I did as a kid, it is not my first color of choice.
When Izzy and I made plans to do our rebranding photoshoot, I knew I had one dress I needed to get pictures in. For my birthday back at the end of April, my mom gave me a gift card to my all-time favorite store, Ross. With that, I snagged quite a bit of items but one of my favorite things was a teal green dress that I fell in love with the moment I saw it on the rack.
Side-Note: I actually managed to not spend over the amount of the gift card so go me!
Ever since I started to read Chronicles of Narnia, I became fascinated with the medieval time period. I fell in love with the thought of kings, queens, knights and sword fights. There was just something so fulfilling about them. Add in the fairy tale twist of Narnia, and I was hooked. I longed to be there beside Lucy talking with animals, laughing with Susan as we got ready for spectacular events, exploring the woods with Edmund on horseback and learning swordplay from Peter.
When country music and wide open fields just weren't cutting it anymore, I had to turn to a new outlet...
Recently I agreed to film a video with one of my closest friends, Izzy, and it became an out of this world experience.
This year, I am all about wearing what I want because it makes me feel good. For some, that might be that they are more comfortable in workout shorts and a shirt, for others it is about being in sweats. But for me, it is about wearing (and promoting brands) that I WANT to invest in. And Serengetee is one of those brands!
As a brand representative for this company, we are required to do a end-of-semester project to help showcase this AMAZING brand. We can do whatever we want to, whether it is a video, piece of artwork, photoshoot, etc. So of course, me being me, I chose to do a blog post!
Imagine helping someone start their own business and all you have to do is buy a stellar pair of shoes. Wouldn't you like to say you are apart of someone living out their dreams? I know I do.
