Hello lovelies!
My name is Mikayla, but I more often go by Mik from my close friends and family. I graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a minor in journalism. Now I work full time at a pain management clinic while continuing to follow my passions of photography and writing. Some cliff notes about my life are: parents divorced at age 6, and I was bounced from house to house and back, I played soccer started at the age of 5 until I was 15. My dad remarried when I was 14 after him and his wife had a little girl, my baby sister, a year later they popped out another kid, my little brother. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression my freshman year of high school and have been living with it ever since (although I did ignore the diagnosis for a solid 6 years before confronting it again). I finished high school as the editor in chief for our yearbook in 2013, and a manager for girls varsity soccer at my high school. Started as a kinesiology major at the Island University, decided science and math were not my cup of tea and switched to a Communication degree, where I found my passion of writing again. My junior year of college, dad and step-mom surprised our family again and I was blessed with twin baby brothers, which brings the total count of Gonzalez kids to a whooping 6. |
Now my days are filled with an 8-5 job, living back home with my mom, my dog and my cat, weekend trips all over Texas, and occasionally the country, and copious amounts of wine drinking. I currently try to keep up with my work life better than my personal life but I am hoping to change that and I like to plan parties that I never get to throw. My heart still lies with photography and my goal to eventually make it my full time job.
I started this blog in 2014 and haven't looked back on it. This little slice of the internet is my favorite place, and I am so excited to share my journeys through life with y'all! |
